Two primary differences between these two products are their active ingredients and formulation. Appear II includes the active Mono- and di-potassium salts of phosphorous acid (Potassium Phosphite) where the active in Signature XTRA Stressgard is Fosetyl-AL. Appear II is a liquid, suspenion concentrate formulation, where Signature XTRA Stressgard is a Wettable Granules formulation.
No, phosphites do not provide any nutritional phosphorous to the plant.
Yes. Appear II is designed to be near pH neutral (5.5 – 6.5) and is classified as very soluble. Due to its near neutral pH, Appear II is highly compatible with tank-mix partners. It can be tank mixed with a fertilizer, a supplement, or with registered pest control products, whose labels also allow tank mixing.
Appear II is truley systemic having both movement via the phloem and xylem of the plant. Ideally we would like to place the product on the leaf blades to ensure maximum uptake and translocation which is supported with a water carrier of 4-10L/100m2.
No, Appear II can be safely applied in a range of temperatures, however it is not advisable to apply at or below freezing.
Appear II is easily mixed with labelled contact chemistries such as Secure and Daconil 2787.
Yes, Appear II contains potassium phosphite and phthalocyanine pigments. These pigments share visible spectral properties to green plant tissues.
It is advisable to mix and apply Appear II in a timely manner in the same day. Static testing demonstrates that the formulation strengths of Appear II should not result in settling; however proper re-agitation and the checking of screens/filters and nozzles is always advisable if mixed product must be left overnight.
If applied and allowed to fully dry on the plant surface, Appear II will not transfer to off target surfaces.
Yes. Appear II is a P07 Phosphonate and a registered pest control product. Product use reporting will follow the same guidelines as other PMRA registered products.
